wax removal + candle care
wax removal + reuse
once your candle has reached the end of its burn, you may notice leftover wax in the vessel. this is normal — and there are a few safe ways to remove it.
freezer method
• place the cooled candle jar in the freezer for 1–2 hours
• once frozen, the wax should shrink and pop out easily
• remove any remaining wick base with gentle pressure
warm water method
• pour hot (not boiling) water into the jar
• allow the wax to soften and rise to the surface
• once cooled, remove the wax and wipe the jar clean
candle warmer option
• if using a top-down candle warmer, allow remaining wax to fully liquefy
• carefully pour melted wax into a disposable container while warm
important notes
• never attempt to remove wax while the candle is burning
• do not microwave candle jars
• avoid sharp tools that could damage or crack the vessel
once cleaned, jars can be reused for storage, refilled, or recycled.
how to get the best burn
our candles are made to be burned often and enjoyed fully. a little care goes a long way in keeping your candle burning evenly, safely, and beautifully.
first burn matters
the first burn sets the tone for the life of your candle.
• allow the wax to melt fully across the surface (usually 2–4 hours)
• this helps prevent tunneling and keeps future burns even
trim your wick
• trim wick to about ¼ inch before each burn
• a shorter wick helps prevent soot, flickering, and oversized flames
if your flame feels too tall or smoky, extinguish, trim, and relight once cooled.
burn time + safety
• burn no longer than 3–4 hours at a time
• allow candle to cool completely between burns
• always place on a heat-safe surface
• keep away from drafts, pets, and curious hands
never leave a burning candle unattended.
towards the end
• discontinue use when about ½ inch of wax remains
• this helps prevent overheating the vessel
a note on handmade candles
each fa candle is hand-poured in small batches using natural waxes. slight variations in color, texture, or finish are normal and part of what makes each one unique.
